With summer heat and humidity at its peak, there's nothing like ice cream to accompany a walk on the beach. But where to find the best version of that most decadent ice cream of all — gelato?

Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the top gelato hot spots in Miami Beach, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of where to sate your cravings.

1. Gelato-go

Topping the list is the South Beach outpost of local Florida chain Gelato-go. Located at 458 Ocean Drive in South Pointe, it's the highest rated gelato spot in Miami Beach, boasting 4.5 stars out of 214 reviews on Yelp.

Yelpers especially recommend the gelateria's dulce de leche and pistachio flavors, and suggest getting scoops in a bowl instead of a cone during hot weather.

2. Bio Bio Gelato

Reviewers, many of whom call it the best gelato in Miami, single out deluxe flavors like the ricotta and caramelized figs or ginger and lemon for special praise.

Also in downtown, check out Mammamia Gelato Italiano, which has earned four stars out of 60 reviews on Yelp. Reviewers are particularly fond of its candy-themed flavors, like the Kit Kat and Ferrero Rocher gelatos, and its convenient beach-adjacent location. You can find the parlor at 960 Ocean Drive.

5. Happy Place Donuts

Last but not least, there's Happy Place Donuts, another downtown favorite with four stars out of 18 reviews. While gourmet doughnuts are first on the menu here, the gelato case is also worth inspecting, according to Yelpers.

Stop by 507 Española Way to hit up the bakery and ice cream parlor next time it's too hot to contemplate being outside without a cooling treat.
