The Crown & Crow is a new Logan Circle drinks spot that features live music. It's located underground, below the Pappe Indian restaurant (see below). It's run by the team behind the bar Kingfisher down the street.

The bar specializes in handcrafted cocktails, whiskeys, craft beer and wine. Food isn't served, but you can bring it in from the outside.

The Crown & Crow is off to a strong start with a current Yelp rating of five stars out of eight reviews.

Yelper V E., who reviewed it on July 7, wrote, "Great place for a drink. Plenty of space to stretch out and nice, casual vibe. Definitely my new spot, which is welcoming to all."

Shawn W. noted, "Very nice people work here. The vibe is very laid-back, the atmosphere is quite beautiful."

The Crown & Crow is open from 5 p.m.–2:30 a.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday and 5 p.m.–3 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Blue Bottle Coffee is a San Francisco Bay-originated chain (now majority owned by Swiss-based global food brand Nestlé) that serves both coasts plus Japan. It offers single-origin artisan coffees as well as blends, poured in-house or as whole beans.

There's also a small selection of food, which includes pastries, cookies and avocado toast.

With a 4.5-star rating out of four reviews on Yelp, Blue Bottle Coffee has been getting positive attention.

Yelper Benjamin B., who reviewed the shop on July 7, wrote, "Great (albeit small) space, tasty mocha, friendly service. No Wi-Fi, however. Snacks look good, but limited. Quiet space, good for studying or working."

Yelper Claudia Z. wrote, "Delicious lattes and cold brews. I'm a big fan of Blue Bottle Coffee and really happy one opened near me. The latte tastes great with almond or oat milk."

Blue Bottle Coffee is open from 7 a.m.–7 p.m. daily.

Pappe

Pappe is serving traditional Indian fare in the vibrant 14th Street corridor. The colorful, 85-seat restaurant comes courtesy of chefs Sanjay Mandhaiya and Shankar Puthran of Saffron in Falls Church and first-time restaurateur Vipul Kapila, Eater Washington DC reports.

Signature entrees include fish curries and taar gosht, which is a braised lamb curry in reduced lamb jus, and spices like mace, cardamom, star anise and cinnamon. Beware the vindaloo, which the owners say "frankly ought to come with a fire extinguisher."

Pappe is developing a local fan base with four stars out of 63 reviews on Yelp.

Yelper Ciara E., who reviewed the restaurant on July 7, wrote, "My favorite dish is the spicy chicken tikka — perfect blend of spices and heat. Cooked thoroughly and unbelievably flavorful. So yum, and it's good with and without the masala sauce."

Yelper Alex G. wrote, "The atmosphere is great. They infused Indian decor with DC icons. The staff was very friendly but they are still working out the kinks. The food was great."

Pappe is open from 11:30 a.m.–3 p.m. and 5–10 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday and 11:30 a.m.–3 p.m. and 5–11 p.m. on Thursday-Saturday.

Milk Bar Flagship at Logan Circle

Next up, there's Milk Bar Flagship at Logan Circle. Established in New York by a Northern Virginia native, Milk Bar calls this a flagship store thanks to its roomy cafe space, ability to host events and classes, and an innovation lab where you can try new experimental recipes.

There's also a walk-up window and outdoor patio. There are still all of the pastries, cookies and cakes, and soft-serve ice cream you expect from any Milk Bar outlet.

Milk Bar Flagship at Logan Circle currently holds three stars out of 50 reviews on Yelp, indicating mixed feedback.

Yelper Sally W., who reviewed it on July 7, wrote, "It has all the Milk Bar goodies your heart can ever desire. It's the biggest Milk Bar location in the area, though it's still not too big. There's some room to sit or stand around a medium-sized table if you're lucky. "

Yelper Martha W. wrote, "The cookies are mediocre at Milk Bar. Very dry. Because they're packaged, they're not fresh daily — which is odd for a place known for baked goods. The crack pie is quite good but, again, packaged — so I'm not sure about freshness."

Milk Bar Flagship at Logan Circle is open from 9 a.m.–11 p.m. on Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.–midnight on Friday and Saturday, and 9 a.m.–10 p.m. on Sunday.

Players Club

Finally, Players Club is a new sports bar and arcade. It's got a 70s vibe, down to period posters and album covers on the walls.

Many of the video games are classic favorites, including Pac-Man, Mortal Kombat and the like. In addition to video games, there is pool, foosball and pinball. There's craft beer on tap and numerous bottles and cans, plus a full bar. For food, you can order in from Shake Shack.

Players Club's current rating of 3.5 stars out of 31 reviews on Yelp indicates the newcomer is finding its way, but it's still early days.

Yelper Michelle O., who reviewed the business on June 6, wrote, "I'm absolutely in love with this place! I came on a Saturday night and the DJ was amazing — I couldn't stop dancing to the nonstop 80s hits. The best part was the place wasn't too packed."

Yelper Stephen C. wrote, "What a hidden gem of fun in DC. A few friends and I stumbled upon this place on accident, but once we walked downstairs, we were instantly transported into a super fly 70s/80s nostalgic basement hangout bar."

Players Club is open from 4 p.m.–2 a.m. on Monday-Thursday, 4 p.m.–3 a.m. on Friday, noon–3 a.m. on Saturday, and noon–2 a.m. on Sunday.
