Pop-up taqueria Gorilla Taco now open at Pentagon Row

A new pop-up spot for street-style tacos has made its debut at Pentagon Row. The fresh arrival to Arlington, called Gorilla Taco, is located at 1201 S. Joyce St.

The taqueria's menu options include tacos with carne asada, marinated pork, chorizo, pork tenderloin, ground bison and mushrooms. All tacos are served with cilantro, white onion, and both tomatillo and chile de arbol salsas, with components removed upon request. Sides are limited to chips and salsa and the soon-to-debut churros.

The full bar serves tequila, margaritas and Mexican beers.

Gorilla Taco is expected to be open through December 2018.

With a five-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp so far, Gorilla Taco seems to be a welcome addition to the neighborhood.

Jaime H., who reviewed the new spot on Aug. 23, wrote, "Great food and service. Prices are reasonable. The menu is on their Facebook page, and it changes periodically. I got the carne asada and chorizo tacos, and they were amazing."

And Zach W. wrote, "Best tacos I've ever had. Flavors were on point. Only got the carne asada and vegetarian, but both were amazing. Music is loud but good. Awesome date spot."

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Gorilla Taco is open from 4–9 p.m. on Wednesday, 4–10 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, 11 a.m.–10 p.m. on Saturday, and 11 a.m.–9 p.m. on Sunday. (It's closed on Monday and Tuesday.)
