The Refuge Meditation center opens its doors in Fair ParkPhoto: The Refuge Meditation/Yelp

A new meditation center, yoga studio and fine-art gallery has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Located at 4140 Commerce St., Suite 206, in Fair Park, the new addition is called The Refuge Meditation.

Among its classes, you'll find yoga programs (including vinyasa, restorative and therapeutic), meditation sessions, hypnotherapy and what it calls "modern magic," which fuses astrology and crystal healing to expand your range of emotion. (Check the schedule here to find daily class times.)

With just one review on Yelp thus far, The Refuge Meditation currently has a five-star rating.

Eisaiah E., who reviewed the new spot on July 19, wrote, "This is a place to meditate, do yoga and connect with a positive community. The studio is intimate, clean and welcoming. Brand-new yoga mats and gear. It's full of art and stone jewelry. ... There is a shower in the studio too, in case you need to go to work after class. The space has everything you need to feel comfortable."

Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: The Refuge Meditation is open from 10:30 a.m.–1 p.m. and 5–10 p.m. on Monday-Thursday, 10:30 a.m.–1 p.m. and 5–8:30 p.m. on Friday, 9 a.m.–5:30 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m.–8 p.m. on Sunday.
