Ike's Love & Sandwiches, a San Francisco-based regional chain, has opened its first Sacramento location at 1420 16th St., Suite 100, as we recently reported. Sandwiches are customizable, or diners can order from a slimmed-down menu of a dozen preselected options.

These include the Madison Bumgarner, named for the Giants baseball player, which comes with steak, Ike's yellow barbecue sauce, habanero sauce, American and pepper jack cheese.

Vegetarians may be interested in the Pilgrim: vegan turkey, cranberry sauce, Sriracha and cheddar. Most vegetarian sandwiches can be made vegan instead. (You can check out the full menu here.)

With a 4.5-star Yelp rating out of 14 reviews, Ike's has been getting positive attention.

"This sandwich was big enough for two fairly portioned meals or for one super hungry person. Sandwiches come with drink from soda fountain and a chose of zapps chips," said Yelper Alice A., who was one of the first to review the new spot on September 10.

And Yelper Regina W. added, "I was happy to see that the lunch line wasn't too crazy today since they opened last week. I was able to be in and out of there within 20 minutes."

Ike's is open from 10:30 a.m.–7 p.m. daily.

Creamy's by Cayla Jordan is a Friday through Sunday-only food stand in the R St. Corridor that offers desserts by Elk Grove-based baker Cayla Jordan. Formerly an online-only business, it's now located at 1120 R St. downtown, where customers can pick up online orders or drop in for a bite.

The bakery specializes in cheesecake bites in flavors like chocolate, coffee, caramel and chocolate chip cookie, as well as and signature cookie sandwiches with a layer of cheesecake, with flavors including birthday cake, caramel pecan and brownie coffee. The cheesecakes are also carried at Temple Coffee.

With a 4.5-star rating out of 17 reviews on Yelp, the desserts stand is on its way to earning a local fanbase.

Yelper Natalie M., who reviewed Creamy's by Cayla Jordan on August 8, wrote of the frozen praline cheesecake cookie sandwich, "Once I took a bite, it never hit the plate again. The cookies were baked to perfection and the cheesecake was exactly as its named, creamy, rich, sweet and oh so yummy!"

"These little cheesecake bites are a trip to heaven!" Monika L. agreed. "I suggest getting the variety pack of her 6 most popular flavors. It's a fantastic sampler and you can't go wrong with any of them."

Creamy's by Cayla Jordan is open from 11 a.m.–9 p.m. on Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.–10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m.–8 p.m. on Sunday.

The Honey Throne is a day spa and steam bar located at 1007 12th St., Suite B (inside Double Take Hair Gallery). It specializes in herbal lower body steams, which it calls V steams, but also offers herbal foot soaks and head and neck massage.

Although this American interpretation of the traditional Korean practice chai-yok has faced heated criticism from skeptical gynecologists, it has grown in popularity since actress Gwyneth Paltrow endorsed the practice in her lifestyle magazine.

On its website, The Honey Throne claims that its steams will "release uterus toxins, as well as strengthen and tone the reproductive organs" and treat everything from "painful menses, to endometriosis, fibroids, BV, infertility, menopause, hysterectomy and PCOS."

It sells packages for couples or parties of up to eight, as well as herbal foot baths, head and neck massages, and a monthly membership including four steams. Each steam comes with a glass of champagne, tea or water.

The Honey Throne's current rating of five stars out of 21 reviews on Yelp indicates continued positive attention from users since our initial report.

Yelper Maria E., who reviewed The Honey Throne on August 23, said, "The owner, Dee, walked us through everything and set us up on our thrones, served us champagne and made sure all our needs were met. It's a great place for self meditation or bonding with your besties."

"I had such a lovely experience," Yelper Candace M. added. "Bambi and Dee where so sweet and welcoming. The ambiance was beautiful from the decor to the lighting."

The Honey Throne is open from 10 a.m.–7 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday and 11 a.m.–6 p.m. on Sunday. (It's closed on Monday and Tuesday.)
