Here are some notable incidents that have taken place in SFPD's Central District since our last biweekly recap. The district encompasses Chinatown, Financial District, Embarcadero, Russian, Telegraph and Nob Hills, North Beach and Union Square. 

Unless otherwise noted, all reports are drawn from the department's daily crime recaps.

Woman fights store employee, robs register

At 8:25 a.m. on September 19, a 39-year-old woman was robbed at a business on the 500 block of Beach Street in Fisherman's Wharf.

According to reports, the suspect, a woman between 25-30 years old, got into a fight with the victim, a store employee. While the victim was uninjured, the suspect was able to grab money from a cash register and fled the scene in an unknown car. 

Hot prowler allegedly snags wallet

On September 19 at 1 a.m., a 23-year-old man noticed that the front gate and front door to his home on the 600 block of Powell Street in Lower Nob Hill were open. When he entered, he encountered a 50-year-old woman inside and told her to leave. The following day, the victim noticed that his wallet was missing. 

Hot prowler returns to scene of burglary, gets arrested

On the 500 block of Jefferson Street in Fisherman's Wharf, a 69-year-old man awoke in his home on September 17 at 3:30 a.m. to find a 19-year-old man going through his belongings. The suspect took cell phones and a backpack and left the scene.

The suspect later returned to the property, and the victim called police. Officers arrived at the scene and took the suspect into custody, but the victim's property is still missing. 

Man stabbed after argument 

A 41-year-old man was stabbed on September 15 at 7:35 p.m. on the 600 block of Market Street in the FiDi. 

According to police, the victim got into an argument with an unknown suspect, who then stabbed him with a knife. The victim suffered minor injuries and was transported to a hospital in non-life-threatening condition. The suspect fled eastbound on Market Street and has not been arrested. 

Man sent to hospital after unprovoked attack

On September 14 just after 10 p.m., two suspects in their mid-20s attacked a 23-year-old man on the 1100 block of Stockton Street in Chinatown, punching him until he fell to the ground. The victim was injured in the incident, and was taken to a hospital in non-life-threatening condition. The suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction. 

Man injured in attempted office robbery

On September 12 at 2:45 a.m., a 36-year-old man was assaulted and injured while inside an office on the 400 block of Post Street in Lower Nob Hill. 

According to reports, a 40-year-old man and and 26-year-old woman attacked the victim inside the office, and attempted to take undisclosed items from him. The victim was able to thwart the theft, and the suspects fled the building. 

The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment in non-life-threatening condition. 

Hot prowl burglar steals wallet from car

Another hot prowl burglary occurred on September 9, on the 1400 block of Montgomery Street on Telegraph Hill. 

A 38-year-old woman parked her car in a garage attached to her home that evening around 5 p.m. When she returned to the vehicle the next morning around 7:30 a.m., she noticed that her wallet, containing cash and credit cards, was missing. 

Man injured after being attacked and robbed

On September 8 at 9 p.m. on the 800 block of Geary Street in Lower Nob Hill, a 30-year-old man was waiting for a ride when a suspect, 40, approached him, assaulted him and took his cell phone. The suspect then fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction. 

The victim was injured in the incident, and was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

Suspect snags woman's cell phone, wallet before fleeing

On September 9 at 4:50 p.m., a 23-year-old woman was standing near the intersection of Washington and Kearny streets adjacent to Portsmouth Square in Chinatown when a man in his mid-20s came up to her and grabbed her cell phone. A struggle ensued as she attempted to hang on to the phone, but the suspect ultimately absconded on foot with it.

During the incident, the victim's wallet went missing as well. She suffered minor injuries, but it's not clear if she was transported for treatment.  

Suspect punches man unprovoked 

On September 7 just before 10 p.m., a man was attacked and robbed at Leavenworth and Geary streets in Lower Nob Hill. 

According to police, the victim, whose age was not provided, walked up to the suspect, a 53-year-old man, who punched him in an unprovoked attack before fleeing the scene on foot. 

The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment of his non-life-threatening injuries.
