From Mexico to the Mediterranean: 3 new South Beach eateries to visit now

Interested in checking out the newest restaurant additions in South Beach? From a Mexican cantina to a Mediterranean eatery, read on for the newest hot spots to open for business in this area of Miami Beach.

Cuprum Miami

Cuprum Miami is a cocktail bar, beer garden and Asian fusion spot in the South Beach Plaza Hotel. 

On the menu, look for dishes like the 1401 Chicken Sandwich (marinated organic chicken, greens, tomato and aglio e olio on a baguette), ocean ceviche and the grilled salmon with tri-color quinoa and cherry tomatoes. Finish your meal with some mango sorbet or a chocolate mousse trifle. (See the full menu here.)

An array of unique, handcrafted cocktails are also available, as well as a rotating Negroni of the Week menu. 

Cuprum Miami has just two reviews on Yelp so far.

Yelper Eva R., who reviewed the new spot on Aug. 8, wrote, "I've been here a couple of times. The food is amazing! It's a mix between Asian and Mediterranean food. Service is excellent!"

Keith S. noted, "Ordered an avocado toast, but it was essentially a smoked salmon open-faced sandwich on bread with random avocados."

Cuprum Miami is open from noon–1 a.m. daily.

La Cerveceria De Barrio

La Cerveceria De Barrio is a casual seafood cantina from Mexico. This is its first location in the United States.

Besides a selection of over 100 beers and 300 tequilas, the menu offers options like the blue crab flautas, the Acapulpo (charcoal-grilled octopus, fresh citrus juice, mixed greens, pineapple, strawberries, orange slices and arbol chili sauce) and the Cerveceria burrito with tequila-marinated Gulf shrimp, red and green peppers, guacamole, pico de gallo and chipotle mayo. It also offers tacos, burgers, tortas, seafood cocktails and more. (See the full menu here.)

Yelpers are excited about La Cerveceria De Barrio, which currently holds 4.5 stars out of eight reviews.

Franco V., who reviewed it on Sept. 5, said, "Fantastic place in the heart of Miami Beach. Great service and fantastic food. I have been a Miami Beach resident for many years and have been around the world. This new place brings a piece of Mexico to Miami."

Beatriz J. added, "It was a chill environment. We had the Gulf shrimp, Diablo sauce and three tacos (octopus, skirt steak and shrimp). The staff was friendly."

La Cerveceria De Barrio is open from 11:30 a.m.–1 a.m. on Monday–Thursday and Sunday, and 11:30 a.m.–2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.

7 Spices Restaurant & Lounge

7 Spices Restaurant & Lounge is a Mediterranean and Middle Eastern spot.

Menu items include a burger made with a lamb and beef blend, caramelized onions, grilled halloumi cheese and house-made aioli, and a grilled Mediterranean branzino with carrots, zucchini, cherry tomatoes and olive lime sauce. Wrap up your meal with a dessert, like the homemade baklava filled with pistachio nuts. (See the menu here.)

With a five-star rating out of six reviews on Yelp, 7 Spices Restaurant & Lounge has been getting positive attention.

Yelper Imad A., who was the first to review it on Aug. 7, wrote, "This is the most authentic Middle Eastern/Mediterranean restaurant in Miami Beach. I tried fattoush, kibeh and beef kefte. Delicious and fresh. ... Great for [both] vegetarians and meat lovers. The owners are always there and the servers were very nice."

Royce L. added, "Best Mediterranean food in town. Owners understand authentic recipes and value customer experience."
