The San Francisco Fire Department reports that a fire in the Inner Sunset this morning has killed one adult and seriously injured another early this morning.

According to the department's Twitter account, the first-alarm fire broke out at 3:33 a.m. today at 1310 Funston Avenue (between Irving and Judah). Firefighters contained the blazroughly 40 minutes later, at 4:08 a.m. 

One woman was killed in the blaze, while a seriously injured man was transported to a burn center for treatment, the department later reported. The identities of the victims have not been released.

A total of six people, including one child, have been displaced, and are receiving assistance from city services and the Red Cross.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

[Update, 10/24] The woman killed in yesterday's fire has been identified by the medical examiner's office as 28-year-old Kelsey O'Leary, the Chronicle reports. O'Leary, a San Francisco resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.
