California-based chain Lazy Dog makes Arlington debut, with burgers and morePhoto: Latreca W./Yelp

If burgers are what you're after, look no further than this new business. The fresh arrival to Arlington Highlands, called Lazy Dog, is located at 241 E. Interstate 20 Highway.

According to the Fort Worth Star Telegram, the California-based chain was founded about 15 years ago by Chris Simms, who is also its CEO.

“We’re really a restaurant that’s focused on scratch cooking, innovative cuisine and a great bar program,” Simms told the Star-Telegram in 2017. “We’ve found that the dog-friendly atmosphere is a complement to the restaurant, as opposed to the only thing we focus on.”

On the extensive menu, look for the bison burger, with grass-raised Wyoming bison, havarti cheese and caramelized onion and bacon ham, and the sesame-crusted ahi tuna with cauliflower mash, seasonal vegetables and coconut curry cream sauce.

With a 4.5-star rating out of 20 reviews on Yelp so far, the new arrival is on its way to developing a local fan base.

Krystal W., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on October 15, wrote, "It was nice to see a wait[staff] that really believes in the food they're serving ... [For dessert, our waitress] swore by the butter cake and ordered it for us ... it was so good."

Yelper Rogelio S. added, “This place just opened like a week ago, but by the coordination that the staff has, the quick and attentive service and the quality of the food, you would think that they have been in business for many years ... Do yourself a favor and go try it, you are going to like it.”

Lazy Dog is now open at 241 E. Interstate 20 Highway, from 11 a.m. to midnight Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to midnight on the weekend so head on over to check it out.
