It's time for another look at the notable crimes reported in the Castro since our last roundup. All details are from SFPD reports, unless otherwise noted.

Upper Market hot prowl

On October 16th, a 41-year-old man awoke to discover that an unknown suspect had entered his apartment near Market and 19th during the night. The suspect stole a laptop, bag, tablet and jacket, before fleeing through the front door. 

Tesla crashes, passengers flee scene

On October 13th at 3:48 p.m., police responded to reports of a vehicle collision at Sanchez and Hancock, where they discovered a vehicle — a Tesla Model X — crashed between two street poles.

While no one was present in the vehicle, a tipster tells us that they heard the incident happen, and witnessed the driver fleeing on foot and a passenger  jumping out of the vehicle and into a white Ford Mustang that also fled the scene. 

The Tesla reportedly did not have licenses plates.

Argument leads to assault, arrest

On September 25th at 11:35 p.m., two men, 26 and 35, got into a verbal argument near Collingwood and 20th. The younger man struck the older man in the head with a metal object, causing non-life threatening injuries. The SFPD arrived and arrested the suspect, and the victim was transported to the hospital.

Collingwood car fire

On September 23rd at 11:26 p.m., police responded to a vehicle fire on Collingwood near Market. The SFFD extinguished the blaze, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was unknown.

Market Street car fire

On September 20th at 6:02 p.m., the SFFD received a report of a car on fire on Market near the Church Street Safeway. Firefighters arrived and extinguished the flames as cyclists and vehicles detoured around the area (pictured above).

Henry Street fire displaces residents

At 1:57 a.m. September 19th , a one-alarm fire broke out on Henry between Noe and Sanchez. While no injuries were reported, eight people were displaced by the incident. The SFFD is investigating the cause but is not considering it to be suspicious.

Three-suspect Dolores robbery

On September 16th at 6:57 p.m., a 29-year-old man was on 20th near Church when three male suspects in their mid-20s exited a vehicle and surrounded him. One suspect punched the victim while the other two went through his pockets, stealing his phone.

Early morning robbery ends in arrest

On September 15th at 3 a.m., a 34-year-old man was near 18th and Sanchez when another man, 30, punched him and stole his hat and backpack before fleeing the scene. The victim received non-life threatening injuries, and the suspect later returned to the area and was arrested.
