Twitter user Shalaco alerted us that a power outage has left large parts of the Mission, Noe Valley, the Castro and SoMa without power since shortly before 11 a.m. on Wednesday.

"Down powerline in the Mission near 23rd and Alabama is sparking all over the place and the power is out for blocks," he wrote.

More than 10,820 customers are without power as of noon today, confirmed PG&E spokesperson Mayra Tostado. “PG&E crews are working safely and as quickly as possible to restore power to areas impacted by weather-related outages."

Tostado also urged residents to report any downed power lines or electrical equipment damage to 415-973-5930.
