It's time for another look at notable crimes in the Tenderloin since our last roundup. All details of the Tenderloin Station’s activities come directly from SFPD reports, unless otherwise noted. 


Suspects flee in vehicle after stealing woman’s medicine

Around 4:30 p.m. on November 3rd, a 25-year-old woman approached a 51-year-old woman near the intersection of Hyde and McAllister streets and struck her, then stole her prescription medication.

The suspect fled into a vehicle driven by a man, said to be about 30 years old. The suspects have not been identified.

Man assaulted, robbed at Market Street bus stop

A 36-year-old man was waiting at a bus stop on the 700 block of Market Street (near 3rd) around 5:15 a.m. on November 3rd when a man said to be in his mid-twenties approached and punched him. 

The suspect grabbed the victim, threw him to the ground, and stole his backpack, including his phone, ID cards, and cash, before fleeing the scene.

Man robbed when exiting his apartment

Just before 10:45 p.m. on November 2nd, a 74-year-old man was leaving his apartment on the unit block of Turk Street (near Market) when an unknown male suspect tackled him, stealing a cashier's check and cash. The suspect fled northbound on nearby Mason Street, and no arrest has been made.

Bike robber snatches woman’s phone

A 27-year-old woman was standing on the 700 block of Market Street (near 3rd) around 7:00 a.m. on November 1st when a male suspect approached on a bike and grabbed her phone from her hand. The suspect rode away, and has not been identified. 

Four men tackle, rob man on Halloween

Just before 11:00 p.m. on Halloween, four men of unknown age chased a 37-year-old man near the intersection of Eddy and Mason streets and pushed him. One of the suspects then stole the victim’s phone. No arrests have been made. 

Trashcan incident turns violent

A 29-year-old man was walking on the 1400 block of Market Street (near Polk) around 2:50 a.m. on October 31st, when he kicked over a trash can that another man was using. The trashcan user became angry, and assaulted the man with a bottle before fleeing the scene. The 29-year-old was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, and the suspect has not been identified. 

Man struck with baton after argument

Around 12:15 a.m. on October 30th, a 40-year-old man got into a verbal argument with a man said to be 23 years old near the intersection of Eddy and Taylor streets. The younger man hit the victim with a baton before fleeting the scene.

Muni patron attacked by two men with canes

A 42-year-old man was waiting at a Muni bus stop on the 200 block of Turk Street (near Jones) around 1:30 p.m. on October 28th when a man said to be in his forties approached him and hit him with his cane. 

When the bus stop dweller tried to defend himself, a second man, also said to be in his forties, approached and also hit the victim with a cane. Both suspects fled on foot and have not been identified. 

Teens rob, injure woman in two-on-one attack

Around 10:30 p.m. on October 27th, two male teens, said to be 12 and 14 years old, snatched a 44-year-old woman’s phone from her hand on the 900 block of Market Street (near Powell). The woman suffered injuries to her finger during the incident, but refused medical treatment. No arrests have been made. 

Man loses phone to knife-toting robber

A 28-year-old man spotted another man, said to be 20 years old, carrying a knife on the 800 block of Market Street (near Ellis) around 5:09 p.m. on October 26th. The suspect then hit the victim in the face and grabbed his phone before fleeing in an unknown direction. 

Man robbed in early morning three-on-one assault

Around 6:00 a.m. on October 25th, a 31-year-old man was walking near the intersection of Hyde and Geary streets when three people, including one woman said to be in her early thirties, approached from behind and pushed him. 

The woman punched the victim and stole his phone, wallet, and credit cards from his pockets. All three suspects fled east on Geary, and no arrests have been made.

Man robbed from behind by unknown suspect

Around 3 a.m. on October 25th, a man said to be 25 years old approached a 64-year-old man from behind near the intersection of 7th and Market streets. The suspect punched the older man, stole his phone and money, and fled in an unknown direction.
