1. Otto Izakaya
Topping the list is Otto Izakaya. Located at 15 Market Point Drive, the tapas bar and izakaya is the highest rated Japanese restaurant in Greenville, boasting 4.5 stars out of 243 reviews on Yelp.

2. Menkoi Noodle House
Next up is Menkoi Noodle House, situated at 241 N. Main St. With 4.5 stars out of 77 reviews on Yelp, the spot to score ramen and noodles has proven to be a local favorite.
Yelper Rob M. writes, "I lived in Hawaii for six years, where genuine Japanese food is plentiful, so it's a big thrill to find some really tasty ramen here on the mainland. My favorite, the spicy ramen, is top notch, with a smooth silky broth, tasty noodles cooked just right and tender beef, all fresh and hot."
Other popular offerings include chicken udon and gyoza.
Takosushi, located at 34 S. Main St., is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the sushi bar, fusing Japanese and Tex-Mex influences, four stars out of 152 reviews.
According to the restaurant's website, the menu is the result of Kevin Goldsmith's many years of "living, eating and cooking in the Southwest" and "love for all things Asian."

Yelper Brad H. writes, "I had the tuna sashimi and the Bourbon Street roll. Both were great; fresh, high-quality fish. We also both had the seaweed salad, which I always enjoy. My waitress recommended a saki, which was delicious."
