Topping the list is Kush. Located at 2003 N. Miami Ave., the New American gastropub, which offers burgers and more, is the most popular gastropub in Miami, boasting 4.5 stars out of 1,980 reviews on Yelp.

This spot has won awards for its chicken and waffles and key lime pie, and Yelpers would add the alligator bites to a list of must-tries. When it comes to burgers, this spot doesn't mess around: try the Frita By Kush (piled high with guava jelly, melted Gruyere cheese, stuffed potato sticks, bacon and LoKal's signature sauce). Check out Kush's list of offerings here.

2. Cardon y El Tirano

Next up is West Flagler's Cardon y El Tirano, situated at 3411 S.W. Eighth St. With 4.5 stars out of 397 reviews on Yelp, the Venezuelan gastropub, serving tapas and more, has proven to be a local favorite.

Try small plates like arepitas, pork belly, yuka balls (with goat cheese, gouda and guava) or tacos (with carnitas, chicken, or shrimp and chorizo), which pair nicely with cocktails, wine or beer.

Monthly wine tastings offer the chance to sample three Spanish wines and three new Latin dishes. View this spot's sample menu here.

Coconut Grove's Lokal, located at 3190 Commodore Plaza, is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the New American gastropub, which offers burgers and more, four stars out of 1,019 reviews.

This spot prides itself on tapping local food sources, with its grass-fed burgers coming from Marion County. For lighter fare, try small bites like homestead guacamole and chips, grilled cheese on rye or heirloom tomatoes.

With nearly 30 beers, you'll find a solid selection of IPAs, ales and even a few gluten-free brews. Check out what's on tap here.
