BurgerIM

7465 Rush River Drive, Suite 840, Pocket

BurgerIM is a chain that offers burgers and more.

The spot offers small three-ounce patties, which are served on burgers that come in twos or threes. You can build each burger to your liking, with meats that include dry aged beef, chicken, chorizo, salmon and more. Finish your burgers off with sauces and toppings, such as chipotle mayo, garlic aioli, barbecue sauce, grilled onions, avocado or a sunny side up egg. Sides include fries, sweet potato fries and onion rings. (See the menu here.)

BurgerIM, which has 28 reviews on Yelp so far, is still finding its footing with customers.

Megan N., who reviewed it on Nov. 29, said, "Seems like the kitchen put out orders based on what they could get out fastest, rather than by who placed orders first. People who came 10-15 minutes after our group got orders before we did. Messed up my order, one of my burgers was cold and there was no difference in taste between the lamb burger and merguez beef."

Anthony W. noted, "Annoyances aside, the burgers were tasty, with a good amount of cheese, but a bit too much onion even for this onion lover."

Welcome it to the neighborhood: BurgerIM is open from 11 a.m.–9 p.m. Monday-Thursday and Sunday, and from 11 a.m.–10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Tiger

722 K St., Downtown

Tiger is a new bar and New American spot that hosts events. It offers guests small, shareable plates, along with wine, beer and craft cocktails with a background of neon, graffiti and live music.

Customers can grab any one of about a dozen items off a food cart/tray, such as pickled deviled eggs or black bean quinoa, nosh on lamb mac & cheese from the bites menu and chow down on a bone-in ribeye off the share menu.

With a four-star rating from 25 reviews on Yelp, Tiger is off to a solid start in the community.

Jenny P., who reviewed it on Nov. 28, said, "Downtown is in desperate need of cool places to hang out before or after Kings games on this end of K Street, and Tiger is just the ticket. ... Tiger's setup involves two bars on two separate floors, and there is room for a lot of people to mingle with drinks."

Tyler S. added, "The space is awesome, [with] two levels with a bar on each level. Comfortable seating. We loved the dim sum concept. Service was fast, [with] carts coming out almost constantly. The beer selection was on point and the cocktails were stiff and well mixed."

The new spot is open from 3 p.m.–2 am. daily.

Hoppy's Railyard Kitchen & Hopgarden

Then there's Hoppy's Railyard Kitchen & Hopgarden, a brewpub and New American spot. It's a restaurant from Hoppy Brewing Co. that showcases its brews alongside complementary dishes.

It offers salads, sandwiches, wood-fired pizza and entrees on the food menu. Guests can start with an Ahi poke bowl and follow up with either the Train Wreck pizza with pesto, heirloom cherry tomatoes, feta and arugula, or the Cajun bone-in ribeye that comes with rice and cabbage slaw. Diners can wash it all down with one, or more, of the Hoppy ales on draft.

Hoppy's has garnered 3.5 stars out of 15 Yelp reviews, showing it's off to a mixed start.

Mike R., who was the first to review it on Nov. 10, wrote, "They have a mix of their own beers and a rotating selection of other local beers on 24 taps. And there's wine and a full bar if anyone in your group doesn't like beer. There's also a great farm-to-fork food menu, as well as a traditional and late-night happy hour. "

Danny R. noted, "Seems like they're still working the kinks out, but we will definitely be back. The location is great in Old Sacramento and the food was delicious. I had the burger with fries and the Hoppy Face IPA."

The new brewpub is open from 11 a.m.–midnight Monday-Wednesday and Sunday, and 11 a.m.–1 a.m. Thursday-Saturday.
