Topping the list is The Trappe Door. Located at 23 W. Washington St., the Belgium-themed spot, which offers beer, burgers and more, is the highest rated New American restaurant in Greenville, boasting 4.5 stars out of 589 reviews on Yelp.

This spot serves up a wide variety of draft beers and cocktails. On the food menu, look for the braised short ribs and steak frites among the entrees. End the evening with a lemon crepe for dessert.

Yelper Shelby B. noted, "I really love the unique and extensive beer list, especially the Trappist beers. I had the pork and cherry sausages, which is definitely one of the best dishes!"

2. Biscuit Head

Next up is Haynie-Sirrine's Biscuit Head, situated at 823 S. Church St., Suite  C. With 4.5 stars out of 363 reviews on Yelp, the breakfast and brunch-only spot has proven to be a local favorite.

Biscuit Head has three locations in Asheville, N.C., as well as this spot in Greenville. In addition to traditional offerings such as the biscuit and gravy for breakfast, it also offers a gluten-free and vegan biscuit option. Look for fried chicken and pulled pork as sides on the menu.

Yelper Sarah S. noted, "Delicious!  The coffee was piping hot and the country ham was served just how I like it: salty."

3. Tupelo Honey

Tupelo Honey, located at 1 N. Main St., Suite T, is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the all-day New American spot four stars out of 703 reviews.

The chain, which specializes in Southern fare, has locations in seven states across the country. Try the fried chicken sandwich or farm fresh burger; but be aware that the menu changes with the seasons.

Yelper Debbie T. noted, "This spot offers excellent service, food and ambiance. It's delightfully Southern without too much twang."
