Art AfterWords: A Book Discussion - The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot

Head to National Portrait Gallery for the discussion on the portrait and book based on it, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot. Skloot was a poor black tobacco farmer whose cells were taken in 1951. The cells would become essential to the world of medicine and lead to the development of the polio vaccine, cloning, gene mapping and much more.

Busboys and Poets presents “JYNX” Comedy Night 

Share some laughs this week at "Jynx" Comedy Night. The lineup of comics will perform a variety of improv. Guests can come dress in a ugly holiday sweater for a chance to win a prize.

Washington Magic 

Experience an evening of magic by David Morey, Savino Recine and special guest John McLaughlin. The show will be 75-90 minutes and allow guests to participate, as well. Dinner and drinks will also be served.
