Want to hit up the freshest new spots in Phoenix? From a cookie dough bar to a drive-thru coffeehouse, read on for a rundown of the newest spots to open their doors recently.

Scoopwell's Dough Bar

Scoopwell's Dough Bar is a spot to score desserts and more.

This spot serves up unbaked gourmet cookie dough made from scratch in flavors like brownie batter, lemon poppyseed and gingerbread (the scoops are safe to eat). Customers may also choose cone flavors like blue corn, cinnamon or red velvet. Check it out here.

With a 4.5-star rating out of 11 reviews on Yelp so far, Scoopwell's is off to a strong start with locals.

Yelper Maria R., who reviewed it on Jan. 13, said, "Loved this place! The cookie dough was delicious and the decor was adorable. We tried a lot of different flavors and I wasn't disappointed with any of them. I didn't expect to love it so much, but the lemon poppyseed dough was my favorite."

And Brad L. wrote, "Fun place to visit, prices are reasonable for this type of a boutique dessert place."

The new spot is open from 11 a.m.–9 p.m. Monday-Thursday and Sunday, and from 11 a.m.–10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Embargo Cigar Lounge

Embargo Cigar Lounge is a tobacco shop and cigar bar.

The Cuban-themed shop offers a variety of boutique and mainstream brands. Customers may also kick up their feet and have a smoke in the store's private courtyard or the lounge, where an air-filtration system is installed to keep clothes fresh. 

With a five-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp so far, the new tobacco shop has already made a good impression.

John D., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Dec. 13, wrote, "The interior is really nice with very comfortable seating and a fresh air return system that leaves your clothes smelling fresh. ... Friendly staff and a smokin' selection of sticks make this a great destination."

And H S. wrote, "Great lounge with an amazing selection of boutique cigars. Embargo has a warm, inviting lounge with extremely comfortable chairs. Their amazing ventilation system keeps the lounge smoke free."

Interested? Stop by to welcome the new business to the neighborhood. Embargo Cigar Lounge is open from 10 a.m.–9 p.m. on Monday-Saturday and 10 a.m.–8 p.m. on Sunday.

Scooter's Coffee

Scooter's Coffee is a coffee roastery, offering coffee, smoothies and more.

The drive-thru coffeehouse offers hot drinks like the Scooter Shooter, a fresh-brewed coffee with a shot of espresso. Breakfast burritos, oatmeal and muffins are also up for grabs. (Take a look at the full menu.)

It's proving popular so far, with a four-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp.

Dennis V., who reviewed it on Jan. 14, said, "Love this coffee drive-thru. I have been here twice so far and the coffee tastes great. They also have really good customer service. If you haven't had the coffee, they give you suggestions. It's a great place."

Amber S. noted, "Friendly, prompt service and delicious drinks and cookies. We will definitely be back!"
