Area mortgage and real estate experts will help you determine if buying is right for you; explain mortgage terms, like "points," "rates" and "fees;" and walk you through the process of making an offer and closing.

C’est Lief Band at Takoma Station

D.C.'s own C’est Lief Band headlines a night of neo-fusion music at Tacoma Station Tavern. The show will highlight songs from the band's new EP, "That's Love," while guests take advantage food and drink specials.

DC Video Consortium’s 1st Birthday at Union Stage

To celebrate its first birthday, the D.C. chapter of the Video Consortium — a community of leading video journalists and nonfiction filmmakers — is hosting a free movie screening and a live musical performance. Four filmmakers will show their short works, then answer questions from the audience. Then chairs will be cleared for local funk heroes, Granny and the Boys.

Open House for Cyber Intelligence Initiative at The Institute of World Politics

Cyber intelligence professionals and enthusiasts are invited to a free half-day event previewing the courses offered by the Institute of World Politics. Subject-matter experts will describe the "Vital Cyber Analysis Skills" and "Cyber International Relations and Statecraft" courses in detail, and networking opportunities with leaders in the field will abound.

Ice Yards at The Yards Park

Finally, if your favorite season is winter, Ice Yards is for you. The "adult winter festival," now in its fifth year, involves live music, alcoholic beverages, live ice carving, interactive games and a plunge into cold, cold water to raise money for the Special Olympics.
