Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the best high-end New American restaurants around San Antonio, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of the best spots to venture next time you're on the hunt.

1. Biga On The Banks

Topping the list is Biga On The Banks. Located at 203 S. St. Marys St., Suite 100, in downtown San Antonio, the New American spot, which offers desserts and more, is the highest rated high-end restaurants of its kind in San Antonio, boasting 4.5 stars out of 651 reviews on Yelp. Its chef and owner, Bruce Auden, was a James Beard nominee for "Best Chef/Southwest" for many years.

On the menu, you'll find popular starters like chicken-fried oysters with squid ink linguine, Swiss chard, pancetta and mustard hollandaise. Entrees include eleven-spiced Hill Country venison and grilled quail with a tamal tart, apple-braised cabbage, grilled eggplant and juniper sauce. Top it off with some sticky toffee pudding. 2. Boudro's On The River Walk

Next up is downtown's Boudro's On the River Walk, situated at 421 E. Commerce St. With four stars out of 2,068 reviews on Yelp, the New American spot, which offers seafood and more, has proven to be a local favorite for those looking to indulge.

Start with the tableside guacamole presentation or the shrimp cocktail and a prickly pear margarita. If you're in the mood for a juicy steak, there's no shortage of the types you can order—try the blackened ribeye with Bourdeaux butter, rosemary potatoes and roasted vegetables. If you've still got room, order the vanilla ice cream puff, with Grand Marnier-soaked seasonal berries and hot Belgian chocolate sauce. (Check out the full menu here.)

3. Bliss

Lavaca's Bliss, located at 926 S. Presa St., is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the fancy New American spot 4.5 stars out of 490 reviews.

The restaurant sources fresh and local ingredients. The menu offers starters like oyster sliders with candied bacon, buttermilk chive biscuits, spinach, brown butter hollandaise and chives. Salads include an iceberg lettuce wedge with candied bacon, heirloom tomatoes, celery, Paradise blue cheese, roasted shallot vinaigrette, creamy blue cheese dressing, buttermilk onion rings and herbs. 4. Signature

Signature, a New American spot, is another much-loved, pricey go-to, with 4.5 stars out of 121 Yelp reviews. Head over to 16401 La Cantera Parkway to see for yourself.

The spot is nestled inside the La Cantera Resort and Spa. The menu offers dishes inspired by chef Andrew Weissman's modern take on classic dishes. It changes seasonally and is based on availability of ingredients. Brunch is offered on Sunday, featuring tenderloin chipped beef with house-made biscuits, steak and eggs with applewood-smoked bacon, and a classic New England lobster roll, served with kettle chips. 5. Silo Elevated Cuisine & Bar

Finally, check out Silo Elevated Cuisine & Bar, which has earned four stars out of 281 reviews on Yelp. Treat yourself at the bar and New American spot by heading over to 434 N. Loop 1604 West.

Popular dishes include the signature chicken-fried oysters. Or try the andouille white cheddar grits with Texas gulf shrimp, tasso ham, sauteed spinach and black pepper cider sauce.
