Devour Week - Devour the World

Sample an array of global cuisine at Devour Phoenix this week at the Japanese Friendship Garden. 

Renowned chefs from a variety of local eateries, like Good Fortune Kitchen, Satay Hut, Flavors of Louisiana, El Chullo Peruvian Restaurant & Bar — among many others — will be on hand with a variety of multicultural fare. Live music featuring the shakuhachi bamboo flute, Chinese pipa and Mexican folklorico dance accompanies diners, as well.

International Supper Club UYE -Abyssinia Restaurant and Cafe

The International Supper Club's Unofficial Yelp Event (UYE) heads to Abyssinia Restaurant and Cafe this month to sample Ethiopian cuisine. 

On the menu, expect to see entrees, like the azeb guada meat plater with doro wat (chicken and hard boiled egg with house-made cheese, spicy beef, lamb stew and derek tibs (pan-grilled beef); vegetarian dishes, like tickle gomen curried vegetable stew with cabbage, green pepper and onion; and more. The group gets together on the third Wednesday of each month at local restaurants to dine on international cuisine.

PHX Vegan Food Festival

The PHX Vegan Food Festival features roughly 100 of Arizona's "most beloved vegan and vegan-friendly restaurants, food trucks and vendors" and more, according to the organizers. 

In addition to a variety of eats and vegan chef demonstrations, expect to see vegan-friendly household items and body care products, clothing and accessories and more. There's also a dedicated "kids' zone from Free Arts of Arizona, live local music on three stages and several no-host bars.

Sippin' the Spirit of The Southwest

Finally, an assortment of local tequila makers showcase their libations at Sippin' the Spirit of the Southwest, a fundraising event benefiting local nonprofit, Liberty Wildlife. 

In addition to the "tantalizing tequilas," expect a beer garden, games, raffles, tours and more.
