Arizona Musicfest: Festival Orchestra Concert of Triumph

"'The trumpets shall sound' when Verdi's 'Triumphal March' from 'Aida' begins this concert at La Casa de Cristo [Lutheran Church] in Scottsdale," write the organizers at the Arizona Musicfest. 

Dallas Symphony principal trumpet and festival orchestra member Ryan Anthony joins the orchestra to perform James Stephenson's "Concerto No. 3," Tchaikovsky's "Capriccio Italien" and Respighi's "Pines of Rome" for this one-night-only event.

Amy Grant

Six-time Grammy winner Amy Grant comes to the Celebrity Theatre to perform some of her most popular hits, like "Baby Baby," "I will Remember You" and "Every Heartbeat." Grant's artistic stylings span an array of musical genres, like folk, pop, country and Contemporary Christian.

Lasers & Liquor: Pink Floyd Night

The Arizona Science Center hosts Pink Floyd's "The Wall" and "Dark Side of the Moon" laser show this week with "14 mind-blowing special effects," according to the organizers. 

The multicolored laser light show will be projected on the Dorrance Planetarium dome, only the "second planetarium in the world to have this laser system." 

Cocktails and refreshments will be available for purchase. Karaoke kicks off at 6:30 p.m.

Metal Mayhem - A Night of Heavy Metal Tributes

Tribute bands pay homage to some of metal's biggest names, including Metallica, Iron Maiden Slayer and more at The Van Buren this Saturday. 

Look for veteran Metallica tribute band Damage Inc., Maiden USA (Iron Maiden tribute), Slaytanic (Slayer Tribute) and Domination (Pantera Tribute). 

The event is general admission, standing room only. 21 and over.
