Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the best high-end New American restaurants around Cincinnati, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of the best spots to meet your needs.

1. Orchids At Palm Court

Topping the list is Orchids At Palm Court. Located at 35 W. Fifth St., Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza in Central Business District, it's the highest rated upscale New American restaurant in Cincinnati, boasting 4.5 stars out of 277 reviews on Yelp.

Named one of the top 100 best restaurants in the country by OpenTable, the restaurant offers an award-winning wine list alongside dishes like braised pork cheeks, served with Jerusalem artichokes, cumin carrot velours and pork jus, and Hudson Valley foie gras terrine. (View the full menu here.)

2. Salazar

Next up is Over-The-Rhine's Salazar, situated at 1401 Republic St. With 4.5 stars out of 250 reviews on Yelp, the New American bar and restaurant has proven to be a local favorite for those looking to indulge.

The neighborhood eatery serves up farm-inspired cuisine, including snacks like its oyster sandwiches with kimchi and radish sprouts and garlic mayonnaise, and meals like the autumn squash gnocchi with spinach, cranberries, cocoa nibs, rosemary brown butter and Pecorino Romano. The restaurant is also a hosting a six-course Valentine's dinner this Thursday. 

3. Please

Over-The-Rhine's Please, located at 1405 Clay St., is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the bar and New American eatery 4.5 stars out of 109 reviews. 

The contemporary eatery features an a la carte menu with offerings like burrata with roasted grapes, thyme and caramelized seeds; and cured pork collar with black currant, caramelized onion, shiitake and treviso leaves. There's also a tasting menu, and guests who partake can request vegan, vegetarian and allergen-free dishes.

4. Metropole

Metropole, a New American lounge and restaurant in Central Business District, is another pricey go-to, with four stars out of 266 Yelp reviews. Head over to 609 Walnut St. to see for yourself.

The restaurant, now led by executive chef David Kelsey, features drag performances alongside a brunch of broccoli fritters, breakfast burritos, pancakes with maple mascarpone and candied pecans, and more. The lunch and dinner menu also includes pan-seared monkfish and the Metropole Cheeseburger, served with red onion marmalade, smoked blue cheese, iceberg lettuce and pickled aioli. 5. The Presidents Room

Over in Central Business District, check out The Presidents Room, which has earned 4.5 stars out of 68 reviews on Yelp. Treat yourself at the New American, Italian and German spot by heading over to 812 Race St. The restaurant at the historic hotel The Phoenix offers private dining experiences featuring contemporary cuisine.
