A new bar and traditional American spot has made its debut in the neighborhood. Called The Alexander Brown Restaurant, the new addition is located at 135 E. Baltimore St. in Downtown.

This spot is located in the Alexander Brown building, which was built in 1901 and survived a fire three years later. Look for the rockfish and ribeye among the many entrees on the dinner menu. The Alexander Brown Restaurant also offers a variety small plates on its bar menu.

The new bar has made a good impression thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of six reviews on Yelp.

Lauren F., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Feb. 12, wrote, "I can't wait to come back and enjoy more cocktail and food offerings. The staff is amazing along with everything else. I highly recommend this new spot!"

Yelper Andy W. added, “This is a spectacularly renovated 1901 bank building on the National Register of Historic Places. The bar is wonderful and offers a strong selection of bourbon. The oysters and salmon were excellent.”
