Lassi and Spice is an Indian cafe that recently opened at 423 Fairview Ave. N in South Lake Union.

The Indian fusion spot features a wide variety of caffeinated beverages, such as chai tea, mochas, lattes and Americanos. Also on offer is lassi, a traditional high protein, low sugar smoothie made with locally sourced yogurt that comes in flavors like blueberry, pistachio and mango. Hungry? Look for small bites such samosas, toasts and Indian sweets.

Mala & Satay is a new Vietnamese spot serving Southeast Asian favorites at 210 Fairview Ave. N in the Cascade.

Look for menu options like chicken bánh mì with house aioli or the tofu bánh mì with bell peppers and onion. There's also signature phở bowls, like the house Malay phở with Szechuanese peppercorn-infused broth, broccoli, beef and brisket; and the Satay phở with lettuce, cucumber, tomato, beef and brisket.

There's also a custom creation option, where visitors can craft their own meal. Here's the full menu.

Start out with economically pleasing appetizers like chips and salsa or nachos before opting for a burrito, taco salad or a trio of tacos. Check out the menu here.
