New happy hour spot The Knotty Neighbor debuts in City Park WestPhoto: The Knotty Neighbor/Yelp

A new bar and New American spot has opened up shop in the neighborhood. The fresh arrival to City Park West, called The Knotty Neighbor, is located at 1618 E. 17th Ave.

The eatery offers an extensive list of local craft brews with selections like the Moondoor Dunkel (a dark lager with a chocolate roast), the Karma Payment Plan (a sour IPA with grapefruit) and more.

The spot also serves up brunch, lunch and dinner items like its Garden Benny breakfast plate, which comes with mushrooms, spinach, carrots, grilled onions, potatoes and a muffin, and the blackened catfish, served with fries on a brioche bun. (Check out the full menu here.)

With a five-star rating out of four reviews on Yelp so far, The Knotty Neighbor has already made a good impression.

Yelper Alexis C., who was the first to review it on Jan. 7, wrote, "The new owners kept the restaurant looking the same and the menu is pretty similar regarding brunch.  Good southern options and classics.  Food was great and timely, and the drink selection was also pretty varied for brunch."

And Aaron M. added, “I love this place! Great food and great environment. It's nice to have the open mic on one side and the other side a more traditional restaurant with a unique modern vibe. The drinks are really good too."
