Creating the L World: Celebrating Kate Kendell and the next generation of queer women activists

Team Q of the United Democratic Club will be hosting LGBTQ advocate and former executive director of the National Center for Lesbian Rights Kate Kendell, who will explore the history and future of the LGBTQ movement with particular focus on  the lesbian experience.

The panel will also include two women who have been instrumental in the fight for lesbian rights: Legal and Policy Director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Northern California Christine Sun, and Angelic Williams, founder of MyUmbrella and leader of the San Francisco chapter of Black Women Talk Tech.

Generation Priced Out: Discussion with the Author

Remix, a city-planning organization, will be hosting a discussion with housing activist and author of "Generation Priced Out," Randy Shaw. In the book, Shaw discusses how the upward surge of rents and home values are impacting urbanites across the United States. 

On Thursday, Shaw will specifically touch on San Francisco's own housing crisis and the generational divide that perpetuates this issue.
