Uptown Yolk brings breakfast and brunch fare to First WardPhoto: John H./Yelp

A new food stand and breakfast and brunch spot has opened up shop in the neighborhood. Located at 224 E. 7th St., Seventh St. Public Market in First Ward, the newcomer is called Uptown Yolk.

This spot was formerly located in nearby Rock Hill, S.C. Expect pancakes, omelettes, Belgian waffles and more on the menu. Uptown Yolk also offers shrimp and grits along with a quiche of the week that changes on a weekly basis.

With a 3.5 star rating out of three reviews on Yelp so far, the fresh arrival is off to a solid start.

Andrew M., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Feb. 2, wrote, "This is a great new spot for breakfast and brunch. I tried the Wisconsin omelette with egg whites, turkey bacon, cheese and mushrooms. It was one of, if not the best, omelette I've ever eaten."

Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Uptown Yolk is open from 7 a.m.–3 p.m. on weekdays, and from 8:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
