Craving chicken wings? You're in luck: a new business has opened its doors in the neighborhood. The fresh addition to Wilshire, called Wild Wing Station, is located at 1533 Austin Highway, Suite 100.
As noted in the restaurant name, wings are the main feature on the menu and come in flavors such as honey barbecue, honey garlic pepper, teriyaki, ranch Parmesan, buffalo (in varying degrees of spiciness) and seasoning toppings. It also serves fried rice, Philly cheesesteaks, burgers, sandwiches, gyros and fish, along with sides like fries, hush puppies and egg rolls. (Click here to view the full menu.)
With a 4.5-star rating out of four reviews on Yelp so far, Wild Wing Station has already made a good impression.
Katina J., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Jan. 30, wrote, "I had the fried rice with wings and he had a lamb gyro. I'll be darned, the rice wasn't dry, the shrimp tasted fresh and they were plentiful. My coworker said the pita for his gyro was soft and had plenty of meat! The honey pepper wings were crisp, sweet peppery little pieces of heaven. Just plain-old quick, good food."
And Velda D. wrote, "Our absolute favorite wing place in San Antonio. Price is amazing and every flavor we tried had us pause and say, 'mmm, that's a dang good wing!' They also have a military discount, which is nice."
Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Wild Wing Station is open from 11 a.m.–9 p.m. on Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.–10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and noon–7 p.m. on Sunday.
