1. Outlaw Kitchens

Topping the list is cafe and New American spot Outlaw Kitchens. Located at 2919 N. Flores St., it's the highest rated business in the neighborhood, boasting five stars out of 71 reviews on Yelp.

The menu is dependent on the season, as well as the fresh produce and meats that are available each week. Expect a different selection of cuisine on each trip and experience at every meal. Next up is bakery and breakfast and brunch spot Scratch Kitchen, serving sandwiches and more, situated at 607 W. Russell Place. With 4.5 stars out of 104 reviews on Yelp, it's proven to be a local favorite.

Menu standouts include the Mediterranean Quinoa Bowl (chopped Kalmata olives, baby tomatoes, cucumbers, feta cheese and red wine vinaigrette), Ham and Brie Sandwich (smoked maple ham, brie, dijon mustard and apricot jam) and the Monte Cristo (pepper mill turkey, maple honey ham, Havarti cheese and dijon mustard).

3. Philly's Phamous Cheesesteaks

Food truck Philly's Phamous Cheesesteaks, which offers cheesesteaks and sandwiches, is another top choice. Yelpers give the business, located at 2301 San Pedro Ave., four stars out of 134 reviews.

Go with the Original Philly Cheesesteak that includes grilled onions and white American cheese on an Amoroso roll or the Bacon Ranch Cheesesteak with grilled onions, ranch dressing, bacon and white American cheese. Add a side of Large Philly Fries with melted cheddar cheese, bacon and grilled ribeye steak.

There are more than a dozen types of coffee, including drip, french press, cappuccino and shakerato, plus hot and iced brewed tea as well as other drinks like kombucha, Mexican Coke and Topo Chico. Finally, check out Krab Kingz, which has earned 4.5 stars out of 26 reviews on Yelp. You can find the food truck and Cajun/Creole spot, which offers seafood and more, at 2301 San Pedro Ave.
