Meow Wolf: Origin Story

When a group of young DIY artists in Santa Fe can’t find a door into the art world, they blow open an entirely new portal with their grit, passion and tenacity. Within just a few short years – and with a little help from George R.R. Martin – this group called Meow Wolf ultimately hits a cultural nerve and garners massive, unexpected success with their exhibit, House of Eternal Return.

Boasting a Tomatometer Score of 100 percent and an Audience Score of 88 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, "Meow Wolf: Origin Story" has been a must-watch since its release in November of 2018.

"Other than showing moments of in-fighting, 'Meow Wolf: Origin Story' is an almost entirely positive exploration of the collective and their art – but it's an effective one," according to Kimber Myers of the Los Angeles Times, while the Hollywood Reporter's John DeFore said, "Rapid-fire visuals adorn an intriguing fringe-culture success story."

Catch it on the big screen at Alamo Drafthouse Mueller (1911 Aldrich St.) on Sunday, March 17. Click here for showtimes and tickets.

Free Solo

Follow Alex Honnold as he attempts to become the first person to ever free solo climb Yosemite's 3,000 foot high El Capitan wall. With no ropes or safety gear, this would arguably be the greatest feat in rock climbing history.

Boasting a Tomatometer Score of 99 percent and an Audience Score of 94 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, "Free Solo" has proven to be a critical darling since its release in September of 2018.

"The visuals are stunning, offering head-spinning views with the comfort of total safety," noted Melanie McFarland of Salon.com, while the Globe and Mail's John Doyle said, "Free Solo...is a jaw-dropper, both in what is documented and its visual impact."

It's playing at Regal Arbor 8 @ Great Hills (9828 Great Hills Trail) through Thursday, March 21. Click here for showtimes and tickets.
