The number of crime reports in Anaheim saw an overall decrease last month, after a previous rise, according to data from SpotCrime, which collects data from police agencies and validated sources.

Incidents fell by about 12 percent, from 1,915 in January to 1,676 in February.

The offenses most on the decline last month were burglary and theft. Burglary fell from 378 reported incidents in January to 294 in February. Theft incidents went from 242 to 209 for the month, or about a 13 percent decrease.

There were 90 assault reports last month, and two shooting incidents. Assault incidents dropped from 108 offenses the previous month, while shooting reports decreased by one incident.

Among the few types of offenses that saw an uptick, vandalism reports went from 63 to 79. Robbery incidents rose from 13 to 20.

When it comes to crime patterns in different areas of the city, the largest decline last month occurred in West Anaheim, Northwest Anaheim and the Colony.

Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays experienced the most reported crimes. The largest decrease from the previous month occurred on Wednesdays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, while incidents on Mondays went up. Comparing times of day, midday, late morning and late afternoon saw the most crime last month on average each day.
