New Korean spot Kokodak debuts in West UniversityPhoto: Esther S./Yelp

If you've got Korean on the mind, a recent opening is need-to-know. Located at 2522 Guadalupe St. in West University, the new addition is called Kokodak.

The highlight of the menu are the cupbop selections, which is protein on top of a bed of rice and vegetables in a cup. At Kokodak, it has a chicken, spicy pork, bulgogi (Korean-style marinated sliced beef) and other cupbops. There are also fries, gyoza and spring rolls as sides, plus chicken wings marinated in various sauces. (Click here for the full menu.)

The newcomer has made a good impression thus far, with a four-star rating out of 32 reviews on Yelp.

Anthony B., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Feb. 28, wrote, "I ordered a spicy pork cupbop and a five piece house original chicken. The chicken was awesome. It was nice and crispy, and the batter had a unique mild flavor to it. The cupbop was huge."

Yelper Tien V. added, “Great food and value! I really enjoyed the rice bowls (spicy pork, galbi) and the chicken wings (spicy). They're generous with their portions and the interior is very clean and ambient."

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Kokodak is open from 11 a.m.–2 a.m. on weekdays and noon–2 a.m. on weekends.
