A new Himalayan/Nepalese and dim sum spot has debuted in the neighborhood. The new addition to Winchester North, called The Everest Momo, is located at 425 S. Winchester Blvd.

The Everest Momo operation has been expanding its Bay Area footprint in recent days. Earlier this year, the business opened its first brick-and-mortar restaurant in Oakland.

Now, the eatery has debuted its first San Jose mobile outpost at the 76 gas station across from Santana Row. The truck has permanent stops in Milpitas, Sunnyvale and Berkeley, as well.

The eatery specializes in chicken or veggie momos, a dumpling similar to the Chinese baozi. Veggie fried rice and chow mein noodle dishes are also on offer.

Rounding things out is a house-made masala chai composed of green cardamom pods, cinnamon sticks, ground cloves and ginger and black peppercorn. (You can check out the full menu here.)

With a four-star rating out of nine reviews on Yelp so far, The Everest Momo has gotten a good response.

Shika R., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on March 3, wrote, "This place is awesome! We ordered chicken and veggie momos. Totally authentic and the garlic chutney is so good. I love coming to this food truck. highly recommended for street indo Chinese food."

And Mishan G. wrote, "It's a food truck. Don't forget that. They've got some outside seating. Two tables and an awning. Perfect for getting the sun out of your eye, or at least the little sprinkles this fun night."

Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: The Everest Momo is open from noon–10 p.m. on Tuesday-Sunday. (It's closed on Monday.)
