Women in STEAM at Chabot Space & Science Center
For First Friday, the Chabot Space & Science Center is celebrating women in STEAM — that's science, tech, engineering, art and math. Just in time for Women's History Month, this family-friendly event includes talks by computational and molecular biologist Dr. Sarah Richardson and astrobiologist Julia DeMarines, along with events focused on science and poetry, "micro missions to Mars," a screening of the film Hidden Figures, and more.

Umphrey's McGee at Fox Theater
Popular jam band Umphrey's McGee is dropping in at the Fox Theater to play songs from its newest album, Back at the 'Nac. Formed in Indiana in 1997, the sextet is now based in Chicago, where they turn out tunes influenced by jazz, heavy metal, electronic music and more. Well known for its live shows and extensive touring schedule, the band releases a Hall of Fame album each year, comprised of fans' favorite live tracks.

Disney on Ice: Dare to Dream
Princess-obsessed kids will delight in 'Dare to Dream,' whose cast features all of Disney's royalty: Moana, Frozen's Anna and Elsa, Belle from Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella and more. The show is all about highlighting female bravery and heroism, not to mention killer ice-skating skills.

White Elephant Sale
Expect jaw-dropping lines at the big warehouse on Lancaster Street as the Oakland Museum of California opens the doors on its annual White Elephant Sale. Vintage hounds from all over the Bay descend on the sale each year to snap up jewelry, household items, clothing, instruments, furniture, books, kitchen items and other secondhand wares.
