San Antonio gets a new sushi bar: Kumori Sushi & Teppanyaki

A new sushi bar has debuted in the neighborhood. Called Kumori Sushi & Teppanyaki, the fresh addition is located at 8803 State Highway 151, Suite 101. This is the latest outpost for the Texas-based franchise. The eatery serves rice, soup, salad, rolls, sashimi, sushi, teppankyaki and more.

From the appetizer menu, try the salmon jalapeñito, which includes fresh cuts of sashimi-grade salmon in a cocktail glass topped with roasted and specially marinated jalapeño peppers, chopped fresh cilantro and cucumbers. For the entree, order the beef teppanyaki combo, made with beef tenderloin teppanyaki, mixed vegetables, a chicken skewer and fried rice. Then there's the rock shrimp rolls, made with tempura shrimp and avocado and topped with rock shrimp tempura, Thai sweet chili sauce, shichimi peppers and cilantro. (Check out the rest of the menu here.)

With a four-star rating out of seven reviews on Yelp so far, the new addition is getting solid feedback from clientele.

Mayra V., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on March 20, wrote, "I am so excited that we have a Kumori in this area. Our visit today was splendid. Sebastian was super attentive and was extremely knowledgeable of the menu. Thanks to him, I've discovered my new favorite roll."

And Raymond A. added, "Went to go have lunch at the new location and, I have to say, it did not disappoint! ... Sebastian was our server and did an amazing job.  I highly recommend this place for good sushi and drinks! "
