What Are They Thinking? Changing Perceptions of Women Decision Makers

The San Francisco Department on the Status of Women, the Queen's Bench Bar Association of the San Francisco Bay Area and the San Francisco Public Library for a Women's History Month convene for a panel discussion this Wednesday at the main branch of the library. The group will examine "issues facing women in the role of decision maker — whether as jurors, judges, elected officials or executives — and what women and men can do to change negative perceptions of women in power," write the organizers.

Data Privacy, Renters vs. Landlords and Fast-Track Housing Policy

The San Francisco Public Press will host a panelist discussion and the launch of the publication's Issue 27. The issue features an "examination of the city's 'privacy-first-policy' mandated by voter-approved Proposition B, an investigation into a lawsuit filed against San Francisco's largest landlord and the claim of environmentalists that fast-track housing policy talks did not include them," according to the organizers.

Week to Week Politics Roundtable 3/20

Panelists will discuss some of "the biggest, most controversial, and sometimes surprising, political issues" of our day at The Commonwealth Club this week, according to the organizers. There will also be an audience discussion period, followed by a "live news quiz." Light refreshments and wine are included in the cost of admission.

Korea: Two Ambassadors, Two Perspectives

Finally, also at The Commonwealth Club, Harry Harris, U.S. Ambassador to South Korea, Cho Yoon-je, South Korean Ambassador to the U.S., and Philip Yun, executive director at the Ploughshares Fund and former State Department official under President Clinton, will discuss future relations between South and North Korea, as well as between both Koreas and the U.S. Yun will moderate the discussion, which will touch on the economic and political relationships between the nations, as well as the "outlook for diplomacy with North Korea and the entire region." 

When: Thursday, March 21, 12-1 p.m.
