First, it's a chance for local citizens and companies to give back with the Corporate Day of Service on Friday at the Great Trinity forest & Lower Chain of Wetlands. Volunteers will work together to clean and remove debris from the areas around the Trinity River, including wetlands, forests, recreational areas and more.

Girl Up STEM for Social Good Tour Arrives in Dallas

The STEM for Social Good Tour, sponsored by Girl Up, for girls hits town this weekend with a Bootcamp on Saturday and a Solution Lab on Sunday at the AT&T headquarters. The Bootcamp will focus on participants honing their skills with Girl Up leaders, while the Solution Lab will allow participants to apply those skills. According to the event organizer, Girl Up is a global movement of empowered young women leaders who defend gender equality.

The Texas Tried and True: Proven Perennials for Spring

Gardeners looking to learn how to grow drought tolerant, native or well-adapted plants that work in North Texas are encouraged to attend this class, hosted by North Havens Gardens. Hosted by North Haven Gardens Educationand Outreach Coordinator Rusty E. Allen will explain what is currently in stock and ideal to plant in the spring and answer any questions.

Tishun Nikco Fine Art Presents: There is Life In This Water Series

Lastly, the Oak Cliff Cultural Center is displaying the work of artist Tishun Nikco as well as poetry from her soon-to-be released book. It's a chance for guests to view her abstract watercolor series "There is Life in This Water." Plus, singer and violinist Traliece Bradford is performing at the free event.
