BostonCHI hosts Prof Xinru Page: Privacy is not 'one-size-fits-all': Addressing individual privacy needs
The local chapter of the Special-Interest Group on Human-Computer Interaction is hosting this free lecture from Xinru Page, an Assistant Professor in Computer Information Systems at Bentley University. Page will share her research on how designers can — and should — tailor their approach to addressing privacy issues to individual differences in perception and preferences.

Community Economic Impact Series: Cape Verdeans in Boston
The Mayor's Office has organized a series of outreach events to explore the current and potential economic impact of various ethnic groups in Boston. The first event is to, for and about Cape Verdeans. The City's Chief of Economic Development will share data on the topic, a panel of leaders from the community will respond and then members of the audience will be invited into the conversation. Cape Verdean Creole will be the language of discussion, but there will be English translation as well.

Twist Bioscience at PEGS Boston 2019
Then, synthetic DNA manufacture Twist Bioscience is hosting a free user group meeting on Wednesday. Following a social and networking session, scientists from Twist will discuss their latest work, with an emphasis on new efforts to combat HIV.

2019 Making Waves with The Tide
