The owners of Pellino's on Prince Street have debuted a new Italian option in the North End. Located in a former Pinkberry frozen yogurt outlet at 285 Hanover St., the newcomer is called Casarecce Ristorante.
"Casarecce" means "homemade," and is a reference to the made-fresh-daily pasta in dishes like bucatini with seafood, spinach gnocchi and spaghetti and meatballs, and also to a specific type of pasta. The Sicilian "casarecce" has grooves that cling to sauces, and you'll find it on the menu as part of a lamb ragu or served smothered with tomatoes, capers, olives and anchovies in the cod puttanesca. Other menu items include veal parmigiana, roasted salmon and chicken cacciatore. Find the full menu here.
Beer, wine and cordials are among the drink options.
Casarecce Ristorante is off to a strong start, with a five-star rating on Yelp.
Yelper Meghan F. wrote, “Our food was delicious. The atmosphere was so pleasant, and the service so attentive and kind, that we decided to buy another bottle of wine to sit and enjoy.”
Casarecce Ristorante is now open at 285 Hanover St., so stop in to try it for yourself.
