Hungry? A new neighborhood New American spot has you covered. Called Tender Greens, the newcomer is located at 3745 Paseo Place, Suite 0840 in Carmel Valley.

Tender Greens has more than 30 locations in California, with a few eateries in New York and Massachusetts.

This outpost, the fourth in San Diego, offers soups, salads, sandwiches and plates. Yelpers recommend the chipotle barbeque chicken salad, topped with avocado, cotija, tortilla strips, green onion, radishes and cilantro lime dressing.

Stop by this month to order the April Special bowl, made with seared togarashi rubbed tuna, toasted sesame and miso mayo on bamboo rice with rainbow carrots, snow peas, daikon and mizuna in a ponzu vinaigrette. (Check out the full menu here.)

The new arrival has gotten good reviews thus far, with a three-star rating out of 14 reviews on Yelp.

Yelper Diana A. wrote, "Healthy, fresh, quick service, what more can you ask for? My favorite items to order are the steak or salt and pepper chicken. You can ask for dark meat only. They have complimentary sparkling water which is my jam! For my dessert, per the staff's recommendation, I went with the olive oil cake and it was a home run! Super moist, fluffy and not too sweet. Loved it!"

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Tender Greens is open from 10 a.m.–9 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m.–9 p.m. on weekends.
