A new brewery has opened its doors in the neighborhood. The fresh arrival to Central Business District, called Penn Brewery, is located at 432 First Ave.
Brewing craft beer for more than three decades, this spot offers year-round beers and seasonal brews. Look for the Penn Weizen, a Bavarian-style wheat beer. The menu blends "ethnic-Pittsburgh" fare like schnitzels and pierogies with casual bites like flatbreads and sandwiches, according to its website.
Penn Brewery has already attracted fans thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp.
Diana B., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on March 16, wrote, "It's a small spot with a lot of seating. Most of the beers on tap were dark, but the food menu includes sandwiches, a few appetizers and salads."
Yelper Karla D. added, “All of the familiar favorites are available like the Pilsner, Penn I.P.A., Penn Gold and others. Can't forget seasonal and small batch favorites Chocolate Meltdown, Nut Roll Ale and more."
Head on over to check it out: Penn Brewery is open from 11 a.m.–9 p.m. on Monday-Saturday. (It's closed on Sunday.)
