New brunch place, The Egg Spot, debuts in Downtown

Looking to chow down on some breakfast and brunch fare? A new spot has you covered. The new arrival to Downtown, called The Egg Spot, is located at 228 S.E. First St. It's the third eatery from the father-and-son duo Igor and Fred Niznik, formerly of the Butcher Shop.

Inside, you'll find a juice bar, a coffee bar and a menu offering all-day breakfast. Choose from half a dozen sandwiches like Son of a Butcher with smoked brisket, eggs any style, pickled onion and chimichurri aioli on a brioche bun.

With a five-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp so far, The Egg Spot is on its way to developing a local fan base.

Yelper Cassandra S. wrote, “Awesome little coffee and all-day brunch spot...Favorites so far: Son of a Butcher, Loxsmith and seasoned tater tots. Roasted beet salad with grilled salmon was on point too!"

And Brian S. added, "Coffee is the best in town!...Food: the Son of a Butcher brisket sandwich with chimichurri aioli is absolutely mouthwatering."

Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: The Egg Spot is open from 7 a.m.–7 p.m. daily.
