New Mexican spot Polanquito debuts in Washington Avenue Coalition / Memorial Park

Looking to chow down on some Mexican fare? A new spot has you covered. The new addition to Washington Avenue Coalition/Memorial Park, called Polanquito, is located at 404 Shepherd Drive

Named after Mexico City's Polanco neighborhood, this spot is owned by brothers Santiago and Diego Navarro, according to the Houston Chronicle. Look for signature dishes like chicken with three-chile mole sauce and slow-roasted pork tacos.

Polanquito has garnered rave reviews thus far, with a five-star rating out of eight reviews on Yelp.

Yelper Peggie W. said, “I tried the tacos, chorizo and potato, and it was yummy. The homemade red and green salsa was just the right amount of heat.”

And Adriana B. wrote, "Everything was fresh, flavorful and authentic. We tried the guacamole, shrimp aguachile and Oaxaca-style quesadilla."

Head on over to check it out: Polanquito is open from 7 a.m.–2 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m.–4 p.m. on Saturday. (It's closed on Sunday.)
