Waffle fans, take heed: there's a new spot in town to get your fix. The new arrival to Midtown, called Taste Bar + Kitchen, is located at 3015 Bagby St.

This new eatery is courtesy of chef Don Bowie and entrepreneur partner Kevin Kelley. Comfort food and craft cocktails are the joint's specialties. Look out for menu items such as Cajun chicken and waffles; bacon and gouda mac and cheese; and jerk lambchops.

Thirsty? Grab a Cotton Candy cocktail complete with vodka, lime juice, strawberry and red cotton candy or the Apple Pie with apple brandy, apple butter, egg yolk, grated cinnamon and nutmeg. (Check out the website here for a full line of offerings and more information.)

Taste Bar + Kitchen has gotten an enthusiastic response thus far, with a five-star rating out of 13 reviews on Yelp.

Yelper Linda S., who reviewed it on April 3, wrote, "The chicken and waffles were on point. The sweet potatoes and mac & cheese sides were delicious. The service was excellent. You should go get your eat on."

Teocea J. noted, "Food was great, as well as the atmosphere and music. The Jerk lamb chops were to die for!"

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Taste Bar + Kitchen is open from 5 p.m.–midnight on Tuesday-Thursday, 5 p.m.–2 a.m. on Friday, 11 a.m.–2 a.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m.–midnight on Sunday. (It's closed on Monday.)
