Spreadz makes North San Jose debut, with sandwiches and more

If sandwiches are what you're after, look no further than this new business. Located at 850 Charcot Ave. in North San Jose, the fresh arrival is called Spreadz.

Select one of the house combos or design your own at this counter-order spot. Baked-in-house bread options include sourdough, rye and the slightly-sweet Dutch crunch. Meats are from the Boar's Head brand, and include Genoa salami, mortadella, pastrami and more. Cajun mayo, deli mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions and pickles are added to each sandwich by default; mustard, jalapeños and pepperoncini are also available.

Beyond sandwiches, Spreadz also offers salads like the Caesar or the Greek, a handful of soups, sides like pasta salad, and chips from Lay's and Deep River. Take it to go, enjoy it in the dining room or, weather permitting, take advantage of the large patio.

With a 4.5-star rating out of nine reviews on Yelp so far, Spreadz seems to be a welcome addition to the neighborhood.

Jesse J., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on March 7, wrote, "The food was amazing. I think I ate until I almost died, that's how delicious it was. The place is super clean and open so you can see what's happening behind the register."

Yelper Michelle K. added, “Easy parking, but the front door isn't very obvious. Lots of sandwich options, chips and bottled drinks. Interior is all new, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and two large TVs. I also love the option for a half sandwich.”

Head on over to check it out: Spreadz is open from 7 a.m.–3 p.m. on weekdays. (It's closed on weekends.)
