Burmese cuisine arrives in Aurora: New eatery Urban Burma opens its doorsPhoto: Urban Burma/Yelp

If you've got Burmese cuisine on the mind, this recent opening is need-to-know. The new arrival, called Urban Burma, is located at 10180 E. Colfax Ave. in Aurora.

As the first Burmese restaurant in the Denver metropolitan area, Urban Burma specializes in noodles and curries from the owner's native country of Burma (now Myanmar). On the menu, look for classic Burmese dishes such as tea leaf salad, stir-fried vegetables and savory samosas, complete with a sweet and spicy tamarind dipping sauce.

With a five-star rating out of 32 reviews on Yelp so far, Urban Burma seems to be a welcome addition to the neighborhood.

Caity A., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on May 9, wrote, "This is the ultimate underdog restaurant, and it is so good! ... The menu was simple, but I want to go back to try everything."

Yelper Dennis K. added, "I am Burmese, born in Burma and raised on Burmese food. The food here is good and authentic. Give it a try; you will be happy you did."

Head on over to check it out: Urban Burma is open from 11 a.m.–7 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, and from 11 a.m.–8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. (It's closed on Monday and Sunday.)
