Reba, shepherd mix

Reba is a charming female shepherd mix in the care of Chain of Hope.

Reba is a social butterfly — she'll get along great with your other dogs, cats and children. She has mastered her house-training etiquette. She's spayed, and she has all her shots.

From Reba's current caretaker:

Reba is a darling, medium sized shepherd mix. She is about 1.5 years old and is such a great dog! She is very puppy-like, she loves to run and play with other dogs. She is kennel-trained, house-trained and obedient. She is also funny, entertaining, and delightful! Reba weighs about 36 pounds. We are trying to put just a little more weight on her, so she will more likely be around 40 pounds. Reba was a little shy with people when she first came into our program-she had not really had enough attention in her previous home. She spent most of her time alone, in a garage. Well, she is having the time of her life at Chain of Hope with our big play yards and other dogs to play with! She loves our volunteers that come and give her some TLC. She is a great little girl!

Betty White, shepherd and Samoyed mix

Betty White is a lovable female shepherd and Samoyed mix staying at Chain of Hope.

Betty White gets along well with other dogs. She is looking for cat-free household. Betty White will do best in a home without small children. She has mastered her house-training etiquette. Betty White is already spayed, and she has all her shots.

Betty White's current caretakers say:

Hi, I'm Betty White! That's right-I'm named after that wonderful angel, animal advocate Betty White the actress. I'm so honored to be named after her! I am about 7 years old. I didn't have a very happy life for many years and now I'm so glad to be at Chain of Hope. I get along with other dogs. It's all new to me to be around other dogs, but I do pretty well with my friends here. After being an outside only dog for so long, I am adjusting to being an indoor girl and I love it! I am a little anxious at times, but everyday I am getting more and more used to indoor things. I am house-trained. I go all night and sleep on my bed and don't tear up anything or potty in the house! I am a very good girl, if I don't say so myself! I am a great walker and love to go for walks! I am also an excellent ball chaser-just throw it as far as you can and I'll go get it! I haven't been around little children in my life, so I don't really know about them yet. I've met two cats here at Chain of Hope and like to chase them; such interesting creatures! If you would like to help me to keep progressing and to have many great years to come, I could sure use a foster or an adoptive home. To find both apps, please go to: https://chainofhopekc.org/adoptable-dogs/. I am finally having a happy life. Maybe I could live the rest of it with you?

Lliam, pit bull terrier and shepherd mix

Lliam is a darling male pit bull terrier and shepherd mix staying at Chain of Hope.

Lliam is the life of the party — he'll get along great with your other dogs. He is already house-trained. He's already vaccinated and neutered.

Notes from Lliam's caretakers:

Liam is just coming up on a yr. old and he is a delightful young boy! He is very playful, energetic, well-behaved and crate-trained. Liam is a white lab/pit bull mix, weighing in at about 60 lbs. He has the cutest facial expressions, he just has a happy face. Liam came into our program after being with a few different inadequate owners. He was bounced around to different homes as a growing puppy, through no fault of his own. He has finally landed at Chain of Hope where he is receiving lots of TLC and some training. We are just working on a couple of things like not jumping-typical puppy stuff. Liam would do best with another dog to play with — he really enjoys playing with other dogs and does great

Bambi, Australian shepherd and retriever mix

Bambi is an adorable female Australian shepherd and retriever mix staying at Furry Kids Refuge.

Bambi is the life of the party, and she'll get along great with your other dogs. She is already house-trained. Bambi is spayed and vaccinated.

From Bambi's current caretaker:

Bambi lived on her own for several years in the country after her owner passed away. We have no idea how many of litters of puppies she had. When we caught her she was pregnant, and those pups have all found their homes. We still have two pups from her previous litter as well. Bambi is now in a foster home and below is a note from her foster Mom. 'Mature fit blonde seeking family and companionship. My days are spent watching over the small dogs in my foster family’s house. If I’m not dog sitting, I can be found stretched out on the couch gazing adorably at my people. I have not had any accidents and I don’t have a kennel. I am quite the snuggle bug at night and only take up half the bed. I am not very loud, however if you have food I know you will share. I am shy around men and when I first meet anyone, sometimes I get worried and hide under a table. When my people walk in the door I joyously greet them and want them to shake my paw hello while they pat my head. Bambi will require a standard fenced yard — no exceptions. Bambi has been spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative and microchipped.

She is one of our longest residents at Chain of Hope and is more than ready for a forever home. She is best in a home with older children due to size. Currently in a foster home and doing great.
