Haight Street's RVCA finally reopens after year-long retrofitPhotos: Camden Avery/Hoodline

Almost a full year after shutting down for a seismic retrofit, RVCA, one of the key storefronts at the historic corner of Haight and Ashbury streets, is back in business.

The clothing store softly reopened on Saturday, stocked with its core offerings of surfing-oriented sportswear for men and women, including swimwear, tops, pants, caps and more.

Though the interior of the store is still being fitted out with fixtures and inventory, staffer Spencer Horton said RVCA is well on its way to being fully up and running in time for its grand reopening party, scheduled for next Friday, May 17.

The revamp included RVCA's in-house art gallery, which is housed in a large, semi-partitioned back room. Art shows are expected to rotate every couple of months; the first, featuring a collection of 20 local artists, will launch at next Friday's reopening party, which will go from 7-10 p.m.

Beer and wine will be available, and customers can peruse the work of the featured artists: Alicia McCarthy, Alexandra Toledo, Amelia Berumen, Bad Sean, Chris Duncan, Clare Bland, Daisy Sheff, Elrod, George Lochman, Gina Contreras, Gustavo Martinez, Isaac Vazquez Avilla, Izzy de la Rosa, Josh Edwards, Lauren D'amato, Muzae Sesay, Odessa Blackmore, Peter Hurley, Sierra Stark and Tim Diet.

For those who can't make the party, RVCA's Haight Street store is now open daily from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.
