Here's all the latest in local food news. In this edition: two longtime spots prep open second locations, a third preps for a move and a vegan-friendly restaurant has its eye on Adams Point.

Openings

Jack London Square

Chop Bar (190 4th St.)

After a decade at 247 4th St., popular local spot Chop Bar is moving to a new space right across the street in mid-July.

"We’re excited about the next generation of Chop Bar, with an even larger space in the Jack London neighborhood we’ve been part of since 2009," co-owner Chris Pastena said in a statement.

The restaurant will expand from 1,600 square feet to 3,000 square feet, with 60 indoor seats. The menu will continue to focus on seasonal American food, but with a much larger kitchen, chef and co-owner Lev Delany plans to expand the menu and add new items.

SoMa's Archive Bar & Kitchen (602 Mission St.) is expanding from San Francisco to Oakland.

The casual eatery, which specializes in pizzas, salads and small plates like deviled eggs and orzo mac and cheese, notified customers of the expansion on its Facebook page last month. It's applied for a full liquor license as well.

Hoodline's veteran tipster Al M. confirmed the eatery is headed to the ground floor of the 1500 Broadway office building (at 15th Street). No further details are available, but we'll keep you posted.

Aburaya (380 15th St.)

In June, Aburaya, "the punk-rock influenced" restaurant specializing in Japanese-style chicken karaage, will expand from its current home base at 362 17th St., the Chronicle reports.

The second location of Aburaya will be just a block away at 380 15th St., the former home of Garden House, and will exclusively serve lunch, including rice bowls and vegan and vegetarian options. The original Aburaya will remain open as well, and will continue to serve dinner.

Our veteran tipster Al M. also reports that the former Enssaro Cafe space has found a new tenant. According to its website, Grandeur on Grand will soon bring burgers and artisanal sides to the neighborhood, with halal and vegan-friendly options. Al says that it's expected to open next month.

Thanks to our veteran tipster Al M.! Have you noticed a new addition to (or subtraction from) Oakland's food landscape? Text a tip and a horizontal photo to 510-757-9959, and we'll look into it.
